in the investigation of murder
New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was arrested for the murder of a man whose body was discovered near the home of the NFL star.
Hernandez has been placed in detention at his home in Massachusetts. He was handcuffed and led into a waiting police car, which left the scene a few moments later... probably walked to a local police station.
The 23-year NFL star is reportedly set to be questioned later today.
There are reports based on law enforcement sources that Hernandez destroyed evidence and that he could be charged with obstruction of justice. So far, no formal charges have been announced.
The move comes days after the cops searched Hernandez home Massachusetts... seeking evidence related to the murder of 27 years Odin Lloyd, a former semi-professional football player.
Body of Lloyd was found in a park in North Attleborough, mass last Monday. It seems that he was shot from the back of the head.
Family of Lloyd, said the NFL star has a link with Lloyd - but they would not elaborate. According to reports, Lloyd had been dating the sister of bride of Hernandez.
TMZ broke the story... Hernandez also faces an action stemming from a separate incident in which he allegedly shot a man in the face following a dispute in a February strip club Miami.
Hernandez is a rising star with the Patriots and signed a contract for 5 years with a value of 40 million $ last summer only.
